Education At Shows

Spring Gardening Show 2008

Working in collaboration with Bam Construction we were pleased to be able to create two show Gardens with Meadows First School and Parkside Middle School. Using our theme of recycling the designs were fabulous and the two chosen designs were ‘The Tank Garden and ‘Little Miss Sustainability.

Young Enterprise West Midlands joined us on the Friday and set up their
businesses in the Learning Garden. In no time at all they had sold out of
product and proved that they had pitched their market just right.
Team Celebration and medals were awarded to all those taking part.

The Learning Garden was, as usual, the focus of educational activity with many workshops and learning sessions being enjoyed.

As always our Professional Development Placement was oversubscribed and was a huge success. Our aim was to help teachers increase their
knowledge and understanding of creating a schools garden, seeding
composting and curricula links.

Three Counties Show 2008

Over 20 schools attended on the Friday and enjoyed a variety of activities
within the Discover Zone. This year saw the introduction of the Animal
Nursery which included a range of small animals and poultry.

The Environment Agency and the Youth Angling Project provided angling
sessions on our lake with around 500 children taking part.

Malvern Autumn Show 2008

Longlevens Primary School completed the RHS brief and took part in our Edible Show Gardens section competing against established garden designers. Their garden design theme was ‘Dig for Victory’ and were delighted to be awarded a Bronze Medal. A huge achievement and very
well deserved.

We are always pleased to welcome other schools to take part in designing
a Show Garden for either Spring Gardening Show or Malvern Autumn Show.
We will help with design, planning and background support to guarantee a
successful outcome, ensuring that these projects compliment all aspects
of the National Curriculum.
