Fasten your seat belts, the next five years are going to be a roller coaster ride for farmers, with the convergence of commodity price inflation, spiralling oil prices, fluctuating interest rates and tough times in the economy looming.

The Three Counties Agricultural Society has attracted three high profile, dynamic speakers for a conference on the challenges facing British farmers in the next five years.

Sir Ben GillSir Ben Gill, farmer, non-executive director of Countrywide and former president of the National Farmers Union.

Professor Allan Buckwell is Chief Economist and Head of Land Use for the Country Land and Business Association (CLA). He also chairs the Policy Group of the European Landowners Association.

Professor David Hughes is a specialist in global food industry developments and a Visiting Professor at the Royal Agricultural College.
