Editor's Notes:
The Three Counties Show is a fund raising event for the Three Counties Agricultural Society (Registered charity no: 511868).
Assistance and participating dogs only.
The event’s Rural Enterprise Pavilion, is fast becoming one of the region’s best networking forums, with real opportunities, for anyone involved in countryside enterprise, to make worthwhile business contacts, build collaborative partnerships and glean general practical advice and expert guidance in all things rural!
Better still, it’s open to all Three Counties Show visitors, helping to create an essential synergy between town and country and farmers and their potential customers.
Business Link is the principal sponsor this year, with support from Parkinson Wright Solicitors and Lloyds TSB Agriculture, and there are around 26 exhibitors for 2009, ranging from organizations such as the Environment Agency, the Country Land & Business Association and the Chamber of Commerce, to Re-think Energy, Care Farming West Midlands and the Lantra Sector Skills Council, among others.
CLA Vice President, Harry Cotterell will join Bob Forster, Chairman of WMRAF (West Midlands Rural Affairs Forum), on the first day of the show. The theme - The Rural Economy – Influenced By Regional Or National Debate? – looks set to encourage a good audience and plenty of discussion.
Said John Wilesmith, Sales & Sponsorship Manager for TCAS: “In spite of an all-pervading gloom in the economy at the moment, we have managed to maintain the interest and commitment of the agricultural and rural sectors this year.
The number of farming-based traders choosing the Three Counties Show to promote their products is on a par with 2008, and support for the Rural Enterprise Pavilion continues to grow. For the first time, we are offering a full programme of talks and workshops on all three Show days.
Of course, we are grateful to our sponsors, not just for their endorsement, but for their valuable input too. Support from such respected firms and organizations can only help us to achieve our mission to provide farmers and other rural businesses with a one-stop support shop they can rely on.”
As part of the business programme, Business Link is running a series of workshops on Saturday and Sunday, on subjects such as business start-up, effective marketing and web promotion.
The Pavilion will also be the venue for NVZ legislation drop-in clinics by the Environment Agency, together with talks on renewable energy by Energy Now, and on business support for young people by STEMpoint.
There will also be presentations from Heart of England Fine Foods (HEFF) and the Ledbury & District Tourism Association.
Worcester law firm, Parkinson Wright is sponsoring this year’s Bear Pit Competition (19 June) – a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style competition to find a deserving, young business which is serving the community through innovation and sustainability. The winner will benefit from £1000 prize money and substantial business guidance.
Tickets for the Show are available in advance from the Ticket Hotline on 01684 584924 or online.
Book by Friday 12 June for discounted tickets.
