Record-Breaking Stuntman Accepts Malvern Challenge

Record-breaking stuntman The Kangaroo Kid (Matt Coulter) has accepted a challenge to jump over ten classic Morgan cars, astride his famous quad bike, at this week’s Three Counties Show (19 – 21 June).

The Kangaroo Kid (Matt Coulter)Matt, a former Australian, Italian and UK Quad Racing Champion whose first vehicle was a 70cc Honda motorbike at the tender age of 7, is back on the UK circuit for the first time in two years.

Malvern’s Morgan Motor Company is celebrating its centenary in 2009, and will be at the Show with some of its beautiful vehicles.

In a breathtaking, daredevil display of sheer determination and skill, Matt will be jumping over the line up, in the Main Arena, on all three days. He’ll also be tackling a row of vintage tractors over the course of the weekend!

Matt, who lives on the Gold Coast in Australia, has just won the touring car championships in Queensland, and has performed all over the world – setting Guinness World records and even surviving cancer along the way.

He started out at county and motor shows around the UK, and was almost killed attempting a paddle steamer jump in Cornwall.

On his second attempt, a bad break left him facing the prospect of having his leg amputated, but he managed to convince doctors to leave it, and still walks with a limp to this day!

Said Sharon Gilbert, Press & PR Manager for the Showground: “Matt has a brilliant rapport with the crowd, and visitors to the Three Counties Show can expect all the thrills and spills of a performance by a world class entertainer.”

The Three Counties Show, which starts this Friday, is expected to attract in the region of 95,000 visitors, and has a whole crop of new features for 2009, including a Farmers’ Market, Felice’s Kitchen, the Malvern Dairy Goat Show, a Medieval Village, and the Three Counties Cider, Beer and Music Festival.

In addition to the Kangaroo Kid, family entertainment includes the thrilling Red Devils Parachute Display team, Young Farmers competitions, bees and honey, vintage machinery, country pursuits and even scuba diving!
