‘Susie’s Garden’
Designer: Sue Jollans

A children’s garden in celebration of a young mum, Susie, struck down with meningococcal septicaemia in her prime, and inspired by her love for her children. The planting fills the garden with movement and colour reflecting Susie’s dynamism and liveliness. A space for movement and laughter, featuring a safe and attractive trampoline. Naturalistic planting and materials are designed to encourage wildlife, a wholesome environment for recreation and a child’s curiosity.
What Ya Got
Designer: Marc Stapleford

A simple modern space, designed for a young couple on a budget in rented accommodation, and using rubble and disused materials to full advantage, to create a small garden for relaxation and socialising. Practical, attractive and environmentally responsible, the garden is surrounded by an old brick wall, creating partial shade, with wild and wall plants.
Grassy Hollow
Designer: Karen Laing

All the way from Aberdeen, Karen Laing, creates a contemporary Scottish garden, ‘Grassy Hollow’ with woodland blending wild, manicured and structural grasses, native and ornamental birches and modern glass sculptures for an element of surprise. A dominant curving glass mound divides the wild wooded grassland and tumbledown mossy dyke from the controlled garden area.
