Highlights include Young Handlers and Sheep Shearing competitions, and on Sunday the Traditional and Minority Rare Breeds Livestock Show and Alpaca Show. Vintage Shepherd’s Collection. New For 2008: Native and Continental Beef Breed Cattle Championships, Sheep and Pig Pairs Championships. Wool Handling Competition. Equestrian Village: from Shetlands to Shire Horses, Cobs to Racehorses and Hunters, visit one of the biggest Equestrian Shows of the year, across 6 rings. A wide range of exciting competitions and displays including show jumping, heavy horses, ridden and in-hand classes. New For 2008: New equestrian ring with dedicated classes for Carriage Driving on Saturday and Hackney’s on Sunday. Come and meet the amazing Equimax Metropolitan Police Horses.
Regional Food & Drink Village: sample some of the best local produce available from across the region, featuring the Gloucestershire Cookery Theatre in association with Taste of the West, and the popular Three Counties Cheese and Dairy Produce Show. Three Counties Cider show featuring Cider and Perry competition with free tasting and voting for the Peoples’ Choice. New For 2008: Farmers Market and Cheese demonstration theatre.
Country Pursuits Village: an exciting non-stop programme of displays and events including gun dogs, fox hounds, birds of prey, owls, ferrets, fishing, forestry, farriery and blacksmithing, vintage tractors and threshing machines. New For 2008: Hearing Dogs for Deaf People demonstrations.
Military Village: A chance to get involved in an a range of activities and meet the experts.
Music Village: Relax and enjoy an eclectic mix of live music from some of our best regional performers with Radio Wyvern/Severn Sound. New For 2008: A Beer Tent featuring ales from Gloucestershire Craft Brewers.
Main Arena: A diverse array of events and performances to entertain. Popular features include The Grand Parade of Livestock, The Parade of Fox Hounds, Harness Racing, and Hot Air Balloons. New For 2008: This years’ theme is ‘Services’ featuring some of the country’s most popular displays including The Equimax Metropolitan Police Activity Ride, The Royal Signals Motorcycle Display Team – The White Helmets and The Parachute Regiment Free Fall Team -The Red Devils.
Discovery Zone: Educational fun for all the family with interactive workshops and competitions.
Country Living Village: Featuring the best of local crafts and products, a tempting array to take home and enjoy. With exhibits by the WI, Bees & Honey Show, Poultry Show, Flower Show and Antiques there are a whole host of exhibits, crafts and stalls demonstrating the best of country living. Sports Village & Fun Fair: action packed fun for the young at heart, featuring RFU exhibition, Worcester Warriers, Gloucester Rugby and David Beckham Football Academy. New For 2008: Schools Touch Rugby Tournament and Scuba Diving!
Motoring Village: Compare and contrast across displays from all the main dealers. Also features a display of Vintage Commercial Vehicles.
